ELogbook stands for electronic logbook. It is aimed to collect daily information (progress reports, comments, to-do lists, phone numbers, etc.) on a post-it basis.
ELogbook's main features include:
- the main window allows fast sorting, browsing and searching facilities through the logbook entries;
- an editor window allows to add/modify logbook entries;
- the entries are referenced using title, keyword, creation and last modification time stamp;
- multiple small size XML formatted text files are automatically generated to store the entire logbook (this reduces file access overhead);
- automatic backup are generated on a regular basis (typically once per month);
- files of various formats (images, sounds, web pages, ...) can be attached to the entries, like e-mail clients do. The attached files are either linked or copied to a separate directory, for bookkeeping.
What's new
Version 1.12:
- Added the possibility to move/link/copy entries from one keyword to the other, in order, for instance, to have the same entry appearing under multiple keywords
- Added the possibility to compress files (using qcompress), in order to save size on disk and speed-up I/O
- Moved all entries away from main logbook files to children files
- Made reorganize method more efficient, by not rewritting files that are not modified
Version 1.8:
- Added support for printing logbooks and lobook entries directly to a printer or a PDF file;
- Improved the ability to export logbooks and logbook entries to HTML.
- Added backup management utility
Version 1.7:
Added the possibility to display the entire logbook as a flat list, rather than with keywords and titles in two separate lists, with a tree structure for the keywords. The flat list display mode is suitable for small size logbooks. For large logbooks (several thousand of entries), the standard tree display mode should be prefered.
