GraphScan is a graphical scientific tool that allows one to grab data points and errors from figures, so that they can be re-used to, for instance, make new plots.
In order to grab points from the figure, the user must first setup the global (mouse pointer coordinates) to local (figure coordinates) transformation, by defining 3 non-aligned reference points and manually assigning their corresponding local coordinates. Once this is done, the local coordinates for every point grabbed using the mouse pointer is automatically generated and can be printed in various formats (raw, c-style or latex) suitable for re-use.
The same global-to-local transformation is used to grab statistical errors along both axis and systematic errors (for the moment only the vertical axis is supported).
Drag-and-drop is used to fine tune the values of the grabbed data points as well as their associated errors.
